To Mayor of Phoenix IL: Terry R. Wells
Good day Mayor Wells, I have to say that I have tried to reach out to your office two times so far; and for whatever reason your office has not felt the need to respond back to me about these issues. I would have thought that by now I would have got a card or something by now. However, everyday I just get a reminder on how one Police officer in your town destroy all 3 branches of government without a care to how this would affect others.
Mr. Mayor Wells, today I receive a phone call from Mr. and Ms. Hoover (the young man who had his car stolen family) and they wanted to let me know that they have been getting tickets in the mail from the city of Chicago for their son Shawn; and all these tickets were during a time that Shawn was not able to be driving his car. It turns out that during Joyce Washington Illegal joy ride in Mr. Hoover car she was racking up tickets for red light. Now; as we both know the City of Chicago does not care who was driving your car when these tickets were issue; they want the owner of the car to be held reasonable for the tickets.
Now once your polices offices found Joyce driving Mr. Hoover car and did not charge her with anything they took Mr. Hoover rights to contest these tickets by the fact that A person had stole his car and he never gave her the permissions to drive it
Now, let me say that I told the Hoover that they should send these tickets to your office and request that the Phoenix Police Dept. pays these tickets since your office took care of Joyce Washington case for her; now this is would only be fair. I feel that the police dept should pay for these tickets and also turn over Mr. Hoover car to his parents since the police officer felt that Joyce had a right to be in the car. I was also wonder did Joyce Washington go to the Calumet City Police Dept and filed her fake report to cover up her crime; and I don’t know why on earth that office would suggest that Joyce Washington breaks the law and file a fake report anyway.
Now the Hoover family wants to know how they can get their son car back, since your police dept has a hold on the car; and personally who is liable for the tow anyway? The Polices are saying that Joyce might have taking the car or she might had not taking it and gave some unknown person money for the car; now I don’t know what are the real facts one way or another but I do know that Mr. Hoover should have his car release to his family and all tickets that Joyce Washington got on the car, should force Joyce be held for them and whatever your police officer did or did not do then that up to the villager of Phoenix to decide that.
Mr. Mayor I gave someone my word that I was going to give you some time to sit down with me and try to discuses what happen that Saturday night on March the 27th and I had wish that for me that night ever happen as it has made this one of the hardest things for me to push. As a black male I look for towns like Phoenix to give young black children a chance to grow up and run the government in their own home town and I feel that this issue is so important to me because the action your officers took that night has a negative impact on black communities. These actions are the reason why there is so much crime that has gone wild in black communities, we have so many polices officer who are taking the laws into their own hand and dealing out unfair justices. I want to know if Joyce was Jerry would he have been giving the chance that Joyce was. I wonder what does or can A 20 year old woman offer to a police officer that would force him to cover up a crime. Now I don’t say these things as hear say; however this was told to me face to face. The problem your officer made was to tell me to my face how he was going to cover up this crime by Joyce so that he can help her in the Guardianship case that she was dealing with. Now those people that he spoke about are my wife and I; so not only did he cheat Mr.; Hoover and the people of the state of IL and city of Phoenix; he has also cost my wife and I about 20 dollars that we are going to have to spend since Joyce told the court what your officer told her to say “that she was never arrested she was just pulled over for not having her paper work in the car”. So these actions have force us to have to come back to court and deal with this issue and this is costing my wife and I since we are the only ones that have to pay for our lawyers. So when you officer was telling me what he was going to do to help Joyce; he was also telling me how he was going to take money out of my family pocket.

Bad Cop!
To Mayor of Phoenix IL; Terry R. Wells
Good day Mayor Wells, I have to say that if I if ever get arrested I hope and pray that it is in your town of Phoenix IL; I will tell you why I came to feel this way.
Mr. Mayor Wells, let me tell you something that happened in your town on Saturday, March 27th 2010; and if I did not know it for a fact I would say no way could this happen. Two know gang members of the Gangster Disciples (look at the picture) Joyce and John were arrested in your town driving a stolen car and not only were they allowed to make phone calls from their cell phone all while they were in police custody, but they were let go 4 hr later and they got a ride home by one of your police officer.
Now, let me give you some facts that I know about this case. The woman that was driving the car said that she got a car from someone, and she does not know his last name. Now she does know this first name guy did not have permission to sell her the car or give it to her and she did know that he was not the owner of the car. She knew the owner of the car and she knew that he is currently in jail. Now, how this person whose last name that she does not know got the car was not an important fact to her; she just wanted a car and he had one.
The person who owns the car is in Jail and he never gave anyone permission to sell his car. However, he did report the car stolen once he found out that his car was in the hands of someone that did not have permission to be driving it. Just because he is in Jail does not take his rights away from having his property protected under the laws in the State.
Now these Gang members told your officer that they paid someone $800 for a car that was not worth $200; and they knew for fact that the person that they gave the money to was not the rightful owner of the car. They also admitted that they kept the plates on the car because they could not take the title in and change it over because the owner did not sign it and they did not have any money to do this part of the law anyway. Oh by the way they did not even have the title on them. They informed your officers it was at their house and they had a bill of sales however they don't know what happen to the bill of sale. Your office put into their head that they were a victim of fraud and should go file a police report on the unnamed car salesman.
Now; they can't produce a bill of sales; or any paper work to prove that they paid anyone money or prove anything that what they are saying is true, however this was ok since they got caught in Phoenix, IL; they don't need these things just a cute smile.
Now for what I have been told this woman told someone else that some guy was going to sell the car to her for $200 and he told her that she had to take the plates off the car asp and forge a name on the title and switch the title over into her name; and after she gave him some money he would try to get someone to sign the title for her.
Now at some point the car owner found out that these people had his car and he reported it stolen. Under the law, the rightful owner of the car never gave anyone the right to sell the car; or drive the car; nor did he sign over any title for the car. Now this stolen car ended up in your town of Phoenix IL and there were two people in the car. Now the officers in your town ran the car and the car came back stolen out of Chicago. Your officers let the woman in the car keep her cell phone and make calls tying to get someone to ok her story and she was also trying to force people to lie for her.
She called the true owner of the car’s mother and father and wanted them to come to tell the police that she did not steal the car. And they told her and the police that they were not going to do that; and that their son did not give anyone the right to sell his car and that she should have never had that car. As I stated before just because he is in jail does not give anyone the right to take his car.
Now; let’s look at what state laws were broke. These gang members were found in a stolen car; and if your officers want to feel that they did not steal the car themselves; because they said that they did not; then they what should they have been charge with. Let's see; how about criminal trespassing of vehicles; or having stolen vehicles. They would have been charged with something in any other city in the state; however in Phoenix IL they were driven home. Now the only thing that was done right was that the car was towed away and impounded like it should have been.
Now from what I can get in your town your office felt that these nice sweet people were the victim. The woman was just so sweet, they felt sorry for her. Now your office knew that she was doing something wrong; however she was just so sweet that they just could not charge her with anything; after all she had a child that she was trying to get back; and this would hurt her chances of getting him back; and your offices had to do everything in their power to help her.
This is the same child that she took with some of her gang crew for a fight when he was 2 and this is the same child that she would use drugs with; and had 3 calls of child abuse to DCFS; but your officers felt she was just so cute and if only your officer would had finger printed them who knows what else these two might be wanted for.
Now, I personally don't know what is the real story behind how these two got this hot car and to tell you the truth no one will ever know for sure your officer cover that up. However what I do know is that your officers not only let them go home without charging them with anything or running their prints for warrants or even doing a police report on this matter. They just felt sorry for them and drove them home.
I have sometimes wondered how it is possible for things like this to ever happen. How do gang member walk the street committing crime? How do drugs dealer sell drugs on the block and the police know who and where they are? I guess they can do this because they are the victim just like these two were; or they might just run into police offices like yours in Phoenix IL who feel sorry for them. Now these two broke some type of law but hey they are just so cute or something happen that they were never charge and now the real victim has to pay.
Your officer blame everyone for what happen but the two main people this man and woman. They knew that they were driving a car that they never had permissions from the owner to drive. They knew that the person who owns the car never gave them permission to buy the car from anyone. Its like if know someone has taking your stuff out of your house and I give them cash for it. I get caught and say; I'm sorry it not my fault; the person who sold it should not had sold it to me.
I have watched this woman and man work the system for far too long. The woman has said that it not her fault that people would use drugs with her son. It’s not her fault that others would use bad word and teach her 2 year old son these words. It’s not her fault that she was defrauding the link card system for a child that she did not have; after all DHS had given her the link card. This woman will be 21 in 6 months and to this date she has wanted to blame everyone for what has happened in her life and as I look back on it she is right. It’s not her fault; after all when she has giving her a free ticket to break the law and blame everyone else for it; so it the people fault.
These thugs told your offices a good story and they had not one thing to support it; they just took the woman word for what she said So much that they never ran her or the guy that was with her finger print to see if they were wanted anywhere; they let them sit and make calls from her cell phone. I don't know what happen with this car and at this point I don't care; however I do know that the action your office took on that day will make sure that the people of the state of IL, will never know and I have to make sure that these types of cases come to light who knows how many more are their.
Where was the justice for the owner of the car? How does he get his car back? These are things that your office never though about, they just took two gang bangers word. If your office feels that these two were the victims in all this, then how come they just did not give the car back to them? They did not do this because they were not the legal owner of the car and never had the permission from the owner to drive the car, so if one was to look at the way the laws are they would say that they broke the law However in Phoenix IL this is not against the law, its like your officer said none of this ever happen; and without the police report I guess it did not.

Today in room 1806, I got an education into why so many young black males are on the streets in the city of Chicago killing each other. Well, as you will see the Guardian AD Litem (GAL) in this probate case, Wartowski and Groszek were given a job of life; to protect and make sure that one minor child is in a safe and secure environment; and bring an end to the cycle that some young black males find them self in everyday and that DOC and DOA.
These women felt that it was safe and more important for Zion a 2 year old to spend his weekend going from reading and being safe; just to be with his biological mother who is a know gang member and know for drug use; just so that this mother (Joyce) can fulfill her requirement under Pathway (DCFS) rules. You see as a 20 year old ward of the state; Joyce can only continue to have her Rent paid ($650), get her link card ($200) and get $68 month cash if she can show that she spends time with Zion. As you see she does not fit the standers under this program under any other way; Joyce does not have a Job; she is not in school; nor does she have a trade.
GAL Alecial Wartowski and Jennifer B. Groszek today (6/3/09), found out that Joyce doesn't feed Zion during these 36 hr weekend visit; Gal Groszek said that she does not need to know for sure if Joyce has clothes or food for Zion (like they said it’s not the job of the Gal to see the child or make sure his mother has anything for him). Zion GAL don't even care that Joyce has taking him in a car with other gang members during one of these weekend visit that they ask for; this ride was so that Joyce could go jump on some girls at her old group home. These women found out that Joyce was in Indiana with Zion at some guy home having sex; drinking and using drugs and then to top the night off Joyce pass out in their basement. The GAL for Zion told my wife’s attorney it’s our job to get the police report about these issue and the names of the people involved and then send them a copy and they might look it over then.
These GAL don't care that Joyce takes Zion to homes where drugs are being used with minors; or that when asked about this in court under oath Joyce said that Zion was getting the drug smell (that we reported to them; DCFS and the police) on him from riding the bus. Now the Gal pass this drug use off; by saying we never asked for a drug test. Well, as the GAL for Zion knows we have to pay all our legal fees; and any test our self. So and as the person who job it is to look after Zion they have not asked or demand one to this date; and they can get it free.
So we see that the Gal don't about Zion, so what does GAL Wartowski and Groszec care about? Well, apparently my blogs are more important to them, so much that they want me to stop my blogs. They have said that if I don't they will make it seem as if I'm the crazy one and ask the courts to give Zion to Joyce or any person that they can find to take him.
Now, CVLS has spent so much time looking at my blogs on line that they have forgot their main job and in doing so Joyce has been able to post gang stuff on line with Zion pictures. The Gal and the Judge in this case found nothing wrong with this; even after just this week a Chicago Police Officer have his life taking by some of these weak gang members (and it just happen to be the same one Joyce is a member of).
When will GAL Wartowski and Groszec and the Pro bate court Judge feel that Zion safety should come first; when we carry his body in a little box after Joyce has taking him off somewhere and he gets a bullet that had her name or her know gang member boy friend name one it. Or how about after Joyce leaves Zion at another dope house; so she can just go off and just enjoy her self.
Last week I was told that CVLS Wartowski wants me to back off or else. However, I was not told what or else means. I have been told that these GAL have said that if I don't they will make it seem as if I'm just some crazy person. So I can guess or else is back off or they will make me spend the weekend with Joyce; like they do Zion.
Well, I'm not crazy; I'm just sick of all this madness that I see ever night on the news about some young black male who has lost his life or taking the life of another. Every time I hear the Judge in this case say to Joyce “you are doing everything they ask of you” I have to ask my self what in hell is being asked of her. Joyce will be 20 this year and will be 21 next year. Joyce has one year left to live the life that she knows of; that’s one that gives Joyce free rent, food, bus pass and $68 a month; now what will happen to Joyce once her year run out.
As I was driving home about 6:30 pm I notice a bunch of people walking down the street heading toward the local church; now I had to call my wife and ask her had she ever seen this. And she told me yes; those are the homeless people that have to check into the church before 7 pm to get a bed. Now I have to wonder, will this be Joyce (and Zion) next year; I can bet you it will. The GAL’s in this case should take the high road and remove themselves from this case as we have requested. Because it hard for them to work on the behalf of the child when they are spending more time looking at my blogs than looking at his mom gang blogs and taking care of what best for Joyce now and not looking at what’s best for Zion.
I think that if these women want to say on they need to look and see what is the duty of a GAL under 705 ILCS 405/2-17. These GAL need to understand that they are not dealing with some weak un education spineless person who will just sit back and let them gamble with this Zion’s life.
The Gal’s and Judge in this case like to talk about what my family is not doing for Joyce; and how it’s my wife job to help Joyce get Zion back. Well, not ever Joyce own Attorney felt that she should get Zion back; so why would my family just hand Zion over to Joyce with out fighting for his life first. Now; I just want to make it clear, we have spent over 6k so fare in this case to make sure that Zion does not go from Guardianship to DCFS into DOC. So why wouldn't we fight for Zion now; and only a fool would just hand Zion over at this point to end up DOA!

Now; I just want to make it clear, we have spent over 6k so fare in this case to make sure that Zion does not go from Guardianship to DCFS into DOC. So why wouldn't we fight for Zion now; and only a fool would just hand Zion over at this point to end up DOA!

Legal Lynching
This might be my last blog; if Attorney Jennifer B. Groszek the GAL for Zion gets her way. As you will see Mrs. Groszeck spends more time looking for stuff about me like my blog on Crag List than she does looking out for what’s best for Zion. Let me give you the facts and the fiction: Fact Attorneys Groszeck and Alecial Waowski of CVLS have spent more time on making claims that I have been arrested many times for domestic battery; now this is fiction. I was arrested once for domestic battery and this was a claim that Zion’s mother made after she attacked my wife in our house; the Cook County Police officer felt the need to come back to my house and take me to Jail because he took a liken to Zion’s mother Joyce; and everyone that knows anything about this knows that this is fiction. Fact: Joyce Washington has been smoking drugs with Zion since he was born; with the last time being February of this year 2009. Fact: Ms. Groszeck and Waowski talked to Joyce’s Attorney Ann Chiumino about this and according to Ms Grosaeck what ever was told to her was so good that she did not feel the need to report this to DCFS; as a mandated reporter should do! You see Ms. Grosaeck is not the attorney for Zion’s mother; however, her job is to look out for what’s best for Zion. Now, I don't know what was told to Ms. Grosaeck, however in open court before CVLS supervisors Waowski listen to the facts and felt that Joyce should have Zion for over night; after Joyce told the Judge that she was not getting high, however she rides the bus and people on the bus be getting high and that how the smell gets on Zion. Fact: Joyce does not feed Zion when she has him and she put this on the fact Zion is a picky eater so that means that Zion does not eat for 36 hours. Now, Ms. Grosaeck and Waowski do not have a problem with this; they felt that my wife and I should just understand that Zion will not eat because he is picky. Fact: if Ms Groszek was doing her job then she would know that Joyce took Zion to a group home that she use to live in and threatened the folks in the home and tried to force her way into the home to fight staff and girls in the home. Now this is something that Ms. Groszeck might know and just did not feel the need to let anyone else know about it. Now Ms. Groszeck and Waowski are so worried about my sending out blog and handing out information about this case that they have forgot their job and when Joyce took Zion to the Cook County Jail to meet his father of the month they had no problem with this. This case has become a joke and the only one whose life is in danger is Zion. And these women spend so much time on what I'm doing that they have not took one second to make sure that Zion is safe. When Joyce takes him on her drug runs or the fact that Joyce has had 10 different men spending time with Zion just this year! I don't personally know these two women; I just know that they don't like me and it has become personal for them. They have forgotten my wife is the legal Guardian for Zion, not me. I'm just the one that feeds him; cloth him and make sure that Zion is in a house where he is loved. For what ever reason these women hate the fact that Zion has a father figure in his life. That an educated black man; that wants Zion to grow up to have a chance to be the next President himself. Those who know me know that my job in life is to educate black men; I have sent more black men to college then either of these women. Now, I don't know about CVLS or the law firm that Ms. Grosezeck work for; all that I know that for what ever reason these women have decided that they want to spend time trying to legally lynch me; then look after Zion. They will be going to court on Wed the 3rd of June to ask the Judge to stop me from doing something; they have ask that I be banned from court because they are scared of me. My family has spent our life saving trying to give Zion a chance, we don't want to fight for him when it is to late; however, we cannot keep on trying to match the funds of Aunt Martha’s or CVLS (you see they are saying that if my wife is able to get a new GAL we will have to pay 5k for it). So, when I ask how much does it cost for the life of a black child; I want to know how much or how low these folks are going to make us pay to give Zion a chance in life. And so that its no misunderstand about what this case is about; Zion’s mother did not want Zion. She tried to abort him and could not get the money to have it done. So Joyce turned herself into DCFS as a runaway; thinking that DCFS was going to pay for her abortion. Now, when Zion came into this world Joyce gave Zion up and only changed her mind after she was told that she would have to move out of her group home. Then after one year court battle my wife was given Legal Guardianship of Zion. Now just 2 month after this Joyce filed a motion to get Zion back, saying that she was able to take care of Zion now; she was still living in a group home, no job and no education. The only thing that changed from the June 24th order was the date. So, my family will fight for Zion, because it seems he does not have anyone beside us that want to do it for him. I have asked what the world’s most hated mammal is. The answer is clear AN EDUCATED BLACK MAN!

Open letter to the President
First and foremost I would like to thanks you for taking the time out of your busy scheduler to read over this information for me and my family would like to send you and your family best wishes and great you and your family.
My name is Mahdee Muhammad and my wife and I about 2 years ago felt that we were doing something to help a family member and one little boy name Zion Washington. Zion mother name is Joyce Washington and she is the granddaughter to my Uncle (my grandmother oldest son). Joyce had decided that she was going to leave her mother house and make it out on her own about the age of 14 because she did not like rules. While out on her own Joyce became wise to the street and found herself in and out of a couple of mental hospitals and group homes. Joyce also had live at almost every family member house that would take her in and while her stay was short there she would leave a lasting memory. Sometime during the year of 2006 Joyce became preagent and decides to go back to her mom house in hopes that her mother would help her to terminate the preagenese. Joyce mother is a Johav Witness and would not take Joyce or pay for her to have this treatment done.
I believe that everything in life has the rules of for ever action there is a reaction and this came into play. As you read thought my reports of what my family has gone thought since March of 2007 know that my wife, kids and I love Zion with all our hearts. We don’t hold him at fault for anything that has happen these two years. Zion is a part that makes up our family, we tell people that we have 4 children and our biology children think of Zion as their brother. Zion has been living with us since he was 4 months and now he is 27 months so we are mom, dad, sister and brother.
January of 2007 my wife wanted to know if we could adopt Joyce child. Joyce was trying to give him up and my sister was not able to take him because she could not afford another child and Zion was not a ward of the state so she would be not be getting any finaluce help. I had never seen Zion or his mother and I told her no! Well February of 2007 my wife was keeping Zion some times to give Joyce a break that she said she needed. By the end of May 2007 Zion was living with us and I was keeping him most of the time and taking him to the doctor. During the time that lead up to this Joyce had been leaving Zion at by himself in a room while she would go out. And there had been two calls place into DCFS of child abuse.
In May of 2007 my wife and I were ask by Joyce caseworker if we could take in Joyce also to give her a stable home. Joyce was living at my mother house as a foster child; however once Zion was not there my mother had wanted DCFS to remove Joyce from her home because of Joyce actions. I had to decline this offer of taking in Joyce I had a daughter who was in eight grade and I did not want Joyce to bring her ideas into our house. Joyce was going to place into a shelter and I ask my mother could she stay at her house until DCFS was able to place her somewhere and my mother said yes.
About July of 2007 Joyce was place into a group home for young women with children. Although Joyce did not have a child with her and at this point did not want one it was some hope that she would want her son seeing all these other young women with children. Well about the end of July Joyce came to our house and for the first time I must say did what was best for her son. Joyce wanted my wife and me to keep Zion forever because she did not want him to grow up in the system. We took the steps to make this a legal action. During the summer of 2007 we notice that Joyce was becoming very jealous of Zion and all that he was doing with us and getting. Joyce express this to my wife when were set to take a family trip. Joyce told my wife that she should be able to go with us and why can Zion go and she could not. She also would ask for us to buy her things since we were buying Zion things. For the rest of the year my wife an I would go sit in on Joyce counseling session at the group home giving our input about her education and things that Joyce would tell my wife that were wrong at the group home.
In November of 2007 Joyce had become very demanding and wanted us to get her a pair of Pink Air force ones I had brought her some pink K Swiss, however she wanted air force ones. Then Joyce kept coming to our house with out calling and was taking things out of the house without asking. So one night I had a talk to her about this and other things and Joyce told me that she was a adult and could do what she wanted to and that since she was family she can come to our house when she wanted to and last that if we did not like it she was going to take Zion back. Well at that point I ask her to leave and told her that we were not going to treat her like a child anymore and she would have to get her own ride to our house and home. She began to cry and my wife took her home for the last time. The next day I stop up at the group home to find out what was going on and to let them know what Joyce had said. For the first time I meet a woman who told me that she was in charge at that home and she had been out on Medical. She also told me that Joyce should have never been place in that home. She did not have a child when she came nor did she want one. And I was told once the guardianship case was over that they were going to be placing Joyce some where else. My wife and I did not talk or see Joyce anyone more till the time she came to court and told the judge that she thinks she change her mind about giving up her right to Zion. Joyce was giving visiting days on the Saturdays for 5 hr.
Joyce did not make a lot of her visit for that rest of that year and in 2008 she made few also. She did make one on March the 7th 2008 the day that I was sent to Jail because Joyce said that I had taking her head and pounded it into my oak floors in our house. She told others that I knock her head into the walls at my house but still she had no marks on her face or head. For some reason I had a cook county police officer to take me to jail for this. Joyce was able to get her visit change to the Aunt Martha’s group home in May 2008 since she did not come and see Zion or call about him for about since she left our house in March the 7th 2008.
On June the 24th 2008 my wife was giving guardianship of Zion and Joyce was giving overnight visit on Sat from 4 pm to sun 4 pm. From June till Oct of 2008 Joyce had only call about 2 times about seeing Zion and both times was when my family was out of town during the summer and she knew we were gone out of town. And on Oct the 16th Joyce came to our house to destroy a party that we were having for Zion; after I had to place an order of protection on her for saying once more that she was going to do harm to my family and trying to forcer her way into our home.
There has been so much going on these two years in our dealing with Joyce Washington and all that we have ever ask for was that DCFS and Aunt Martha’s keep Joyce from doing harm to our family. At ever step of the way I have been told that although Joyce is a ward of the state she is an adult and so she is reasonable for her own action, and there is nothing that anyone can do to stop her. As you read though my packet you will see that I have look for help and have not been giving any.

How we got to this point with Aunt Martha's
Good day, I hope that you read this and get back to me as soon as you can. My name is Mahdee Muhammad and my wife and I were blessed about 18 months ago to change our minds about something that a lot of families are faced with. That is to take care in a child whose mother can no longer, or in our case didn’t want to take care of their child any more. My 2nd cousin Joyce Washington was placed in my mother’s house in Park Forest after going from my aunt and sister’s house after she could no longer live with them. Well just like other houses Joyce was in, she caused confusion and my mother put her out. My wife and I had been taking care of her son Zion (who is not a ward of the state) for about four months at this point Joyce case worker at that time was Ms. Tureen. Ms. Tureen asked my wife and me if we wanted to let Joyce move in with us since there was not an open in another house. Joyce did not want to go to a shelter because of her past dealing in one. We had to say no to this, because our daughter was in eight grade at this point, and we could not have Joyce bring her ways into our house. So after this my mother agreed to let Joyce stay with her until something better came around for her. Well, a room was open in one of Aunt Martha’s group home in Chicago Heights. This home was for mothers who had kids or was about to have a child. Joyce did not fit any of these; however this was a better placement for her then a shelter. Aunt Martha’s set up an Informal Arrangement Form with a lot of promise that were never following through. My wife and I were not upset about this our family was Zion family. The love that we feel for our kids is also felt for Zion, even if he did not come from us. So we never looked at the state or Aunt Martha’s for any help with Zion. As the summer came Joyce was getting use to living her life without Zion. She told my wife and me that she did not want Zion to live the life that she had and knew that it would be better to live with us. So she wanted to give us full custody of Zion. We drew up a child custody and agreement in July of 2007, signed and notarized it. We had a few problems; Joyce wanted to take summer trips with us and asked us to buy her new things. During the fall my wife and I wanted to put Zion on our insurance, so we took the forms that we had to the office and was told that they were not legal. So I made some calls and found out what we had to do to make this agreement legal. So, Joyce and her GAL met with my wife and I in court to give us legal guardianship of Zion on October, 2, 2007. On this court date we were not able to get full guardianship because Joyce had some guy sign the birth certificate and she could not get in touch with him. So at this point, we met this guy and told him that we needed him to sign his rights away. He had no problem with this. We had to set another date to come back to court on November 30, 2007. Now this is when things changed. We found out that the people we had been talking to at Aunt Martha were not the ones in charge. The person who ran the group home was out sick and she informed me that Joyce Washington should never have been placed in that home since she did not have her child and did not seem to want the child. I was also told that once we gain full guardianship of Zion, Joyce would have to be placed in another home and she knew this. So, we did not see Joyce from this date till our next court date on November 30, 2007. Joyce came to court with someone who said that she was her educator advisor (this is the person that I’m making the request for investigation on). When the case was called the judge checked to make sure that all the paper work was signed and in order. The judge asked were all parties still in agreement with the order and this is when Joyce said that she had changed her mind. Now this took my wife and me for a loop. And so the Judge ordered for a GAL for Zion and set the matter for another court date. So our next date was in February 2008 and another date was set for April 2008. On March 7, 2008, Joyce had not visited her son for some time and she came to our house on this date. My wife and I talked to her about some things that she needed to do like get her GED, go to college, get a job, dress better and stop giving Zion food out of her mouth. Well during this Joyce said she felt when she held her son he would touch her in a sexual matter. My wife and I asked her to get out of her house! She would not leave and became angry and violent. I asked my wife to call the police and Joyce ran out of our house. She made a call to someone as she walked down the street. When the police arrived, the officer took a statement from my wife and told us he knew someone that worked at the group home and he would go talk to Joyce. The officer came back to our house and told us that he was told that I had attacked Joyce and took her head and banged it on the wooden floor in our house over and over. I later asked Joyce why did she lie to the police, she told me that she did not tell the police this (I believe that her advisor told her to do this). Joyce came to court with her adviser on April 29th, 2008 and told the judge that she feared her life and wanted her visits with Zion to be at the group home (Joyce needed to have this in order to meet the rules of DCF). Her adviser gave Joyce legal advice and fought for her rights as if she was her GAL. Her adviser made a statement to me in court that she knew why I had to take anger management classes and that I had an anger problem. I told her that I had a problem with how she was handling herself and what she was doing. Illinois. I talked to a supervisor about these issues and I told them that I was going to give them one week before I took this matter up with the State of Illinois. I don’t know what this woman has done or not done; all that I know is that things have been said and done by this person who is far as I know is just Joyce’s adviser not her legal adviser. This person made remarks to me that I felt should not have been made. This person has helped Joyce make false statements. I know that the job of Aunt Martha’s is to take care of Joyce and help her in any way that they feel she needs help; however, if someone has been helping this child lie or break the law then they need to be dealt with. I have been told to drop this and just let it go. I have been told that most people are going to look at me as some ANGRY BLACK MAN. I am angry! I’m sick of hearing on the news about some person who has killed their kids after they have said they did not want the child, or state taken the child away. In these stories it’s always some case worker who cares more about the bottom line than the child. Aunt Martha’s gets about 4,000 a mouth for Joyce Washington and they would get this for about two more years until she turns 21, then what? It’s too late for me to help Joyce, however; if this adviser is doing what I think she is she does not and should not mess up another young woman’s life. If she is not doing this, then she just needs to do her job better, because what she said to me in court was uncalled for and very unprofessional and she has the job of educating and helping young women.
